Over 50% of workers today spend some time at an office desk, and a large majority of these workers spend 8 hours or more completing computer work.  

There are a myriad of hand conditions that are either caused by computer work, or computer work becomes uncomfortable due to a pre-existing hand condition.

Firstly, let's examine the features of the Delux Vertical Ergonomic Mouse.

Vertical Hand Position

The Delux is a vertical ergonomic mouse.  This means the shape of the mouse brings the hand, wrist and forearm into a more neutral position.  This neutral position promotes more relaxed forearm and wrist muscles and joints.  It also brings the carpal tunnel up off the desk, which significantly reduces the pressure to it.

C-Shaped Grip

Unlike many other vertical mice, the Delux Vertical Ergonomic Mouse has a more rounded shape, which rests your hand in a c-shaped grip.  This relaxes your fingers and thumb in a more flexed position than other mice.

Detachable Wrist Support

The Delux has a detachable wrist support that allows the side of your wrist to rest on while you move the mouse across the desk surface.  This allows no contact of your wrist to the desk itself at any point.

Concaved Mould for Thumb Position

The concaved mould of the thumb area of the mouse promotes your thumb to relax into it and assist in gripping with more ease.

DPI Settings

The Delux contains 3 different DPI (dots per inch) settings: 800, 1200, 1600.  These settings allow users to change the cursor speed of their mouse from fast to slow with a click of a button.

Dupuytren's Contracture is a genetic, degenerative hand deformity that causes one or some of the finger joints to bend from the tissue in the palm contracting over a period of time.  

Although the condition is not painful, the Delux would be an alternative solution to give a relaxed position of the fingers by the rounded shape of the mouse.

De Quervain's Tenosynovitis is a painful and preventable condition caused by repetitive movement over a long period of time.  It affects the thumb with pain, swelling and reduced ability to move the thumb and wrist when trying to grip or pinch objects.  

The Delux provides a relaxed position for the thumb and wrist as well as the wrist support for movement assistance , thus allowing the condition time to heal.

Arthritis, such as rheumatoid or osteoarthritis, are degenerative diseases of the joints that can cause the fingers, thumb and wrists to become deformed and painful to work with while using a mouse.  

Due to the c-shaped mould of the mouse, it allows for the fingers to become more relaxed by 'wrapping around the mouse' and easier to click when completing computer work.  We have received numerous amounts of exceptional feedback regarding this feature and how it has helped our customers with arthritis work comfortably and reduced amount of pain.

As discussed earlier in the post, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is located within the wrist, however mouse use and hand function can be significantly affected, so we are including the condition to highlight how the Delux can be beneficial to the recovery of this painful issue and help prevent any future issues.

The Delux places the wrist and hand in a neutral position - the main priority to recover from CTS.  The rounded mould can also assist in lightly gripping the mouse with very little effort.  The wrist support is perfect for completely relaxing the wrist onto the mouse and to assist in gliding the mouse across the desk surface.  The DPI settings also provide help with either intricate tasks and ability to move the cursor across the screen more quickly to allow less hand, wrist and arm movement.
