Taller memory foam support for long periods of sitting

Does Your Chair Leave Your Lower and Mid-Back Feeling Unsupported?

Not every office chair, car seat or home chair provides useful support through the natural curve of your back.

The Lumbar Support Cushion - High adds a tall, contoured layer of memory foam behind you, giving you a larger supportive surface through the lower and mid-back area while you sit.

At 42cm high and 40cm wide, it provides substantially more coverage than our standard lumbar cushion and is particularly suited to longer periods of office work, driving and seated tasks.

Need more than a small lumbar pad? This is the taller option.

The high-back design supports a larger area behind you, with a contoured memory foam profile that can supplement a chair that feels too flat or unsupportive.

Add Support Without Replacing the Whole Chair

If the chair itself is otherwise suitable but the backrest does not provide enough contour or contact where you need it, a removable lumbar cushion can be a simple way to change the fit.

42

Taller Back Coverage

The 42cm height provides a larger support area than a small lumbar roll or compact lower-back cushion.

MF

Memory Foam Core

The contoured memory foam compresses under load while maintaining a supportive shape behind the back.

Elastic Chair Strap

Helps hold the cushion against a compatible chair back instead of allowing it to constantly slide out of position.

W

Washable Outer Cover

The breathable mesh cover can be removed and machine washed for easier ongoing care.

What Does a Lumbar Cushion Actually Change?

A relatively flat chair back can leave a gap between your body and the backrest, particularly around the inward curve of the lower back.

The Lumbar Support Cushion - High fills part of that space with a contoured foam surface.

Instead of sitting against a flat backrest, your back has a shaped surface to make contact with.

The result should feel supportive rather than forceful. If the cushion pushes you excessively forward or feels too pronounced, it may not be the right shape or size for that particular chair.

Why Choose the High Version?

Our two lumbar cushions serve slightly different sitting preferences.

HIGH

Lumbar Support Cushion - High

Measures approximately 40cm wide × 42cm high and provides a larger contact area through the back.

STD

Standard Lumbar Support Cushion

Measures approximately 34cm wide × 32cm high and is a more compact option when you mainly want support concentrated around the lower-back area.

i

More support is not automatically better. Choose the size and contour that suits your chair and body rather than simply choosing the largest cushion available.

Deeper Contoured Shape for a More Noticeable Support Feel

The High model has an inner contour of approximately 6.5cm, increasing to approximately 12cm at its widest point.

This creates a more substantial shape behind the back than a thin pad or flat cushion.

If you prefer very subtle lumbar support, this more pronounced profile is worth considering before purchase.

Particularly Useful for Long Periods of Sitting

Office Work
Long Drives
Gaming & Study
Home Seating

It can be particularly useful when the existing backrest feels too flat, leaves a gap behind your lower back, or does not provide enough contact during longer sitting periods.

Important before you buy

A Lumbar Cushion Changes the Fit of Your Chair

Adding approximately 6.5–12cm of contoured support behind you moves your body forward relative to the original backrest.

This means you will have slightly less usable seat depth once the cushion is installed.

If your chair seat is already shallow, or you already sit close to the front edge, check that you have enough space before adding a substantial lumbar cushion.

Check Your Seat Depth After Installing the Cushion

Once the cushion is positioned behind you, sit back against it and check how much seat remains underneath your thighs.

You should still be able to sit securely on the chair without feeling as though the cushion is pushing you towards the front edge.

If the chair has an adjustable seat-depth slide, you may be able to increase the seat depth to compensate for the space taken up by the cushion.

Position the Cushion Where It Supports You, Not Where It Looks Symmetrical

The best position depends on your body and chair.

The most prominent part of the cushion should sit where it provides useful contact behind your lower-back curve rather than simply being centred visually on the backrest.

1

Attach the Cushion

Use the elastic strap to secure it around a compatible chair back.

2

Sit Back Naturally

Settle into your normal sitting position instead of forcing yourself into an exaggerated upright posture.

3

Adjust the Position

Move the cushion until the contour feels supportive without creating excessive pressure or pushing you too far forward.

Support Your Sitting Position, Don't Force a "Perfect Posture"

The purpose of lumbar support is not to hold your spine rigidly in one position for the entire day.

The cushion provides a supportive contact surface behind your back while you sit.

You should still change position, stand, move and vary your posture regularly throughout the day.

If the cushion feels as though it is forcing you into an unnatural or uncomfortable position, adjust it rather than assuming more pressure must mean better support.

Memory Foam That Conforms Under Load

The cushion uses a memory foam core that compresses as you lean against it.

This allows the support surface to respond to your body rather than feeling like a completely rigid insert behind the chair.

Memory foam can feel different depending on body weight, chair shape and ambient temperature, so the amount of compression will vary between users.

Elastic Strap Helps Keep It in Position

Lumbar cushions are most useful when they stay where you set them.

The elastic back strap wraps around a compatible chair back to reduce unwanted movement during normal use.

Chair shapes and dimensions vary, so check that the strap can sit securely around your particular backrest.

Breathable Mesh Cover You Can Remove and Wash

The memory foam core is covered in a breathable grey mesh fabric designed for regular everyday use.

The outer cover can be removed and machine washed, making it easier to keep the cushion clean over time.

Remove the cover from the foam before washing and follow the care instructions supplied with the product.

Useful When Your Office Chair Is Almost Right, but the Backrest Isn't

You may already have a chair that is the correct height, has an adequate seat and works well with your desk, but still lacks useful lumbar contour.

In that situation, adding a separate support can be a more practical option than replacing the entire chair.

If the chair has multiple other fit problems, however, a cushion will not correct issues such as unsuitable seat height, excessive seat depth or poorly positioned armrests.

Can Also Be Used for Driving and Other Seated Tasks

The tall support can also be used on compatible vehicle seats and other seating where additional back support is desired.

For vehicle use, position the cushion before driving and make sure it does not interfere with your seatbelt, head restraint, driving position or any vehicle safety system.

You should still be able to reach the steering wheel and pedals comfortably while sitting securely against the seat.

Using a Lumbar Cushion Because Your Back Is Already Uncomfortable?

Additional lumbar support may make prolonged sitting more comfortable for some people by changing how the chair contacts the back.

However, a lumbar cushion is not a treatment for lower-back pain and cannot guarantee symptom relief.

Chair fit, desk height, sitting duration, physical activity and your individual condition can all influence how you feel while seated.

Persistent, significant or unexplained back pain should be assessed by an appropriate health professional.

Please check suitability before opening

Support Cushions Cannot Be Returned Once Opened

Due to hygiene requirements, this product is non-returnable once it has been opened.

Before removing the cushion from its packaging, check the 40 × 42cm dimensions, the approximately 6.5–12cm contour depth and the available space on your chair.

If you're unsure whether the High or standard lumbar cushion is more suitable, contact our team before opening the product.
