A Sculpted Vertical Mouse for Medium to Large Right Hands
The Evoluent VMR4 supports your right hand in an upright, handshake-style position rather than the flatter palm-down position used with a conventional mouse.
Its substantial sculpted body supports the palm, thumb and fingers, while easy-to-reach controls and four pointer-speed settings give you precise control without needing to change your grip.
Choose between a wired USB model for a permanent workstation or a wireless USB receiver model for a cleaner cable-free setup.
Designed for users who want a substantial, full-hand vertical mouse rather than a compact fingertip-style design.
The sculpted body supports a medium-to-large right hand while the thumb rest and lower finger lip give your hand dedicated contact points around the mouse.
Ergonomic Shape with Familiar Mouse Control
Handshake-Style Position
The vertical body supports a more upright hand orientation, reducing the amount the forearm needs to rotate towards a palm-down position.
Medium-to-Large Hand Fit
Evoluent recommends the regular VMR4 for right hands measuring approximately 178mm or longer from the wrist crease to the tip of the middle finger.
Six Controls
Dedicated finger and thumb controls provide everyday clicking, scrolling and navigation functions directly from the mouse.
On-Mouse Pointer Speed Adjustment
Switch between four hardware sensitivity levels without opening your computer settings, with LEDs showing the currently selected speed.
Why Change the Angle of Your Hand?
A conventional mouse generally places the palm towards the desk, requiring the forearm to rotate inwards during use.
The Evoluent VMR4 turns the working surface of the mouse onto its side, allowing the hand to approach it in a position closer to a handshake.
The thumb rests on one side while the fingers operate the controls from the other, giving the hand a supported position around the mouse body.
Choosing the Right Evoluent Size
Evoluent recommends the regular VerticalMouse 4 Right for users with a hand length of approximately 178mm or greater, measured from the wrist crease to the tip of the middle finger.
For smaller right hands, Evoluent also produces a separate VerticalMouse 4 Small. Choosing the correct size helps ensure the fingers, palm and thumb naturally align with the sculpted controls and supports.
Controls Positioned Where Your Fingers Naturally Rest
The VMR4 provides six controls with default functions including primary click, forward, middle click, secondary click, back and scrolling.
The main controls sit beneath the fingers while additional navigation buttons are positioned around the thumb area, giving you access to common functions without repeatedly moving back to the keyboard.
A lower finger lip also helps keep the smaller fingers supported away from the desk surface as you move the mouse.
Change Pointer Speed Without Changing Your Grip
Pointer-speed controls are built directly into the mouse, allowing you to switch between:
LEDs visible through the chrome thumb-rest area indicate which setting is selected, making it easy to move between slower precision work and faster movement across larger screens.
Choose Wired or Wireless
Evoluent VMR4 Wired
Connect directly by USB Type-A with an approximately 2.1m cable. Ideal for permanent workstations where you want simple plug-and-play operation with no batteries or charging.
Evoluent VMR4 Wireless
Connect through the supplied USB Type-A wireless receiver. The wireless model uses one AA battery and provides approximately three months of typical battery life.
Plug-and-Play with Optional Button Customisation
Standard mouse functions work without installing additional software on compatible computers.
Windows users can optionally install Evoluent Mouse Manager to customise button and wheel functions, create shortcuts and even assign different functions in different applications.
Using macOS? Core mouse functions are supported, but Evoluent Mouse Manager is currently Windows-only. Additional button functions therefore remain fixed on macOS unless compatible third-party software is used.
