Configure the Mouse Around the Size and Shape of Your Hand

The OrthoMouse takes a different approach to ergonomic mouse design. Instead of giving every user the same fixed shell, it includes interchangeable components that let you adjust its length and upper hand support around your right hand.

Three palm prolongers and two upper adapters create six possible configurations, allowing you to experiment with the combination that provides the most natural support and control for your hand.

Designed by an orthopaedic surgeon with a focus on hand anatomy and function, the OrthoMouse also positions the hand at a more angled orientation than a conventional flat mouse.

Short, medium and long rear adapters change the mouse length from approximately 11.3cm through to 13.6cm.

Five low-resistance buttons are positioned around the fingers and thumb to minimise the amount of force needed for everyday clicks and scrolling.

Why Mouse Fit Matters

Hand size varies considerably, and a mouse that is too short or too long can leave the fingers or palm poorly supported.

The OrthoMouse addresses this by allowing you to physically alter the shape of the mouse rather than simply choosing one pre-determined size.

The rear palm prolonger changes the overall length, while the upper adapter helps fine-tune the position of the thumb and index finger.

Three Interchangeable Palm Prolongers

The rear section of the OrthoMouse can be changed between short, medium and long configurations.

Short – 11.3cm

Medium – 12.1cm

Long – 13.6cm

These generally correspond with smaller, medium and larger hands, but OrthoVia specifically encourages users to try the different options because preferred mouse length also depends on grip and control style.

Two Upper Adapters for Finger and Thumb Position

Two interchangeable upper adapters provide another layer of fit adjustment around the thumb and index-finger area.

This is particularly useful because two people with a similar overall hand length may still have different finger proportions.

Combining the two upper adapters with the three rear prolongers gives the OrthoMouse its six available configurations.

Designed Around an Angled Hand Position

A conventional flat mouse generally places the palm towards the desk, requiring greater inward rotation of the forearm.

The OrthoMouse uses an asymmetric body shaped around a more angled hand position, with the fingers, thumb and palm supported around the body of the mouse.

OrthoVia developed the shape around orthopaedic principles of hand and forearm positioning, including an approximately 45° forearm rotation and finger-joint orientation.

Thumb-Operated Scrolling Instead of a Conventional Wheel

The OrthoMouse uses a distinctive control layout rather than a standard index-finger scroll wheel.

Two primary buttons sit beneath the fingers, while three thumb-operated controls provide scrolling and middle-click functions.

Scroll speed can be varied through repeated presses of the up or down scroll buttons.

Wired 1000 DPI Optical Tracking

The current wired OrthoMouse uses a 1000 DPI optical sensor with a 1.8m USB cable.

It is plug-and-play for standard mouse operation, with no specialist driver required for basic cursor and click functions.

The underside also incorporates seven small silicone glide pads designed to help the mouse move smoothly across the work surface.

Best Suited to Right-Handed Users Who Value Precise Fit

The OrthoMouse is designed specifically for right-handed use. OrthoVia's user documentation recommends it for hands approximately 16cm long or greater.

Its modular design makes it particularly interesting for users who have struggled to find a conventional fixed-size mouse that supports their hand in the way they prefer.

Try the different configurations. The shortest adapter is not automatically only for small hands, and the longest is not automatically only for large hands. Your preferred configuration can also depend on how you control and move the mouse.

Returns & Exchanges

Products may be returned within 30 days of purchase for a refund or exchange of the product price, subject to the conditions below.

Return conditions

Items must be returned in as-new condition, with all parts included and in original packaging
Products that require assembly must be returned unassembled, including removal of gas cylinders for chairs
Items returned assembled, incomplete, damaged, or showing signs of wear may be subject to a partial refund following inspection
A 10% restocking fee applies to all returns, except where the item is faulty
Support cushions are non-returnable once opened
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs and are encouraged to use a trackable service

All No More Pain Ergonomics products are covered by a minimum 12-month warranty from the date of purchase. Some products include extended warranties of 24 months, 36 months, or up to 10 years (refer to the individual product description for details).

If your product becomes faulty or malfunctions within the warranty period, you can lodge a warranty claim via our returns portal. We will work with you to arrange either a repair or replacement, depending on the issue.
